Moriarty Electric Company has been serving the seacoast area since 1992. Based in Eliot, Maine, they install and service commercial and residential generators, solar power units, pool lighting, mini splits, and more.

We recently spoke with Office Manager Karen Hughes and In-House IT/Lead Generator Tech Ben Bate about their Formax equipment and how it makes their jobs easier.

Sharp MFPs Provide More Options

Prior to joining the Formax family, they used a competitor’s printer for accounting and marketing projects. Karen said it kept breaking down, required a lot of maintenance, and didn’t have all the capabilities they needed.

The solution was a pair of Sharp MFPs, which allow them to copy, scan, fax, and print. In addition to printing invoices and pricing quotes, they can now produce professional quality marketing pieces that don’t have that “photocopied” look.

Saying Farewell to Stamps

As a customer-driven business, their mail volume includes service reminder postcards and invoices, which they used to process by hand using rolls of stamps. Karen said it seemed like they were always running out to buy more stamps, and their small post office is closed every day at lunchtime.

Enter the Quadient iX-5 Mail Machine. Now their sales and service teams can print postage directly on envelopes, postcards, and more, avoiding tedious trips to the post office.

From Presentations to Relaxation

The company decided to install a 60″ Sharp Aquos Board primarily to share PowerPoint presentations and webinars with their staff. However, when it’s not being used for these purposes, Karen said it doubles as an “ambiance board.”

In the winter, they call up the fireplace channel, and in summer, it features a relaxing river scene with birds singing. How’s that for a multi-use device!

Service and Support from a Local Company

The team at Moriarty Electric said they’re happy to work with another locally-owned company. Karen said whenever they have questions or need supplies, a quick phone call is all that’s needed. And Ben said of their Formax supported products, “Your equipment just works!”
