Formax Direct Helps NH Resort Expand its Horizons


Tucked in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Owl’s Nest Resort & Golf Club offers gorgeous scenery, with top-notch golf and sporting activities in a relaxed atmosphere. To help them interact with guests and serve them while on-site, the Owl’s Nest turned to Formax Direct.


We recently spoke with Laurie Stevens, the Controller at the Owl’s Nest, who told us how their Sharp MFP/Copiers and Star2Star VoIP Phone System have helped as the resort grows and expands.


Sharp MFPs – A Welcome Technology Update


Prior to working with Formax Direct, the staff struggled with their older copiers. These units had begun to show their age, with frequent paper jams and smudged ink, and they were lacking technical support services. Owls Nest Laurie


Now, they have a Sharp MX-2651 for centralized use in the office, and a compact Sharp MX-C304 for the Sports Nest, their Golf Pro Shop and Activity Center.


With their MX-C304, the Sports Nest staff can easily print customized golf score cards, membership cards and more, on heavier paper stock, in brilliant full color.


In addition to general day-to-day projects, their in-house graphic design team uses the MX-2651 to print dazzling full-color menus and marketing brochures. Laurie said they also make the most of the additional functions, including scanning documents to share on a common hard drive, printing weekly AP checks, and scanning to email.


To keep their MFPs up and running, the Formax Direct service plan provides regular preventive maintenance, and their lease agreement allows them to upgrade when technologies change.


Star2Star VoIP Communications System – User-friendly Features


VOiP phonesThe resort’s outdated dial-in/dial-out phone system was originally designed for a hotel, but they needed a more user-friendly system for the resort staff who can be anywhere on the 600-acre property. A Star2Star VoIP Communications System from Formax Direct was the solution.


Laurie said she appreciates the voicemail-to-email, and the find-me/follow-me feature which rings through from a desk phone to an individual’s cell phone.


Another popular feature is the Star2Star mobile phone App, which provides a call log where users can return a guest’s call utilizing the resort’s phone number instead of their personal cell number. The new system has also enhanced their conference call capabilities.

After the phone system was installed, Laurie said she was pleased with the responsiveness of the Formax Direct Service Team. They were able to assist her remotely, instead of spending time traveling to be on site, and they were committed to working with Laurie and her team until they were satisfied.
